This is great advice! The truth is that social media and community management is very important if you run an online business or a business with online presence!
Will an intergrated online presence is the optimal, in case of limited resources, there are some social media like google+, stumbleupon and twitter that could really make a difference with your SEO without that much effort!
The easiest way i found to do my SEO, was to hire 2 freelancers, an article writer and a social media expert. It took us some time to learn to work as a team but we did get it together and i'm very happy with our results. Hiring article or blog writers is a great way to start optimazing your organic results.

It is better to submit articles on top most article websites only such as Ezine articles, Article base, Go articles, Sooper articles etc. By the way, you have shared the good list of article directories.

Yeah, it is a great idea to juice up your older articles and blog posts that are of higher quality. I find that an effective internal linking strategy within you own sites and blogs or whatever, also works great. One thing about internal linking that is certain, is that you have full control of it.
I apply this internal linking strategy to mostly related pages, whether they are popular at the moment or not. In return, it is not uncommon to see an old web page you wrote 1.5 years ago or later, all of a sudden gain a lot of traffic upon the next SE algorithmic change.

To eliminate weak, unstable rankings, it helps to be thorough per each topic, if possible. I understand the need for the occasional weak pages, especially when dealing with opinionated posts, but if, for example, you're writing an article about a highly competitive subject, one must be very elaborate and try to include related links, images or videos, and lots of content, to stand out from the ordinary slap jobs you see on most websites that are full of adverts.

Anyway, this was a good reminder for many, how one may have several potential money-making posts and articles already existing on their websites, if they'd just juice 'em up a bit; cheers!

I read this post earlier, and just came back to comment...

I enjoyed reading what somebody has wrote via the plain truth as opposed to lies and fake promises about the "making money online" industry.

The shoddy info packets from self-professed SEO Gurus is enough to turn a person's stomach, but to read this article that was geared toward the newbies out there attempting the lovely task of building niche websites for profit, was somewhat pleasant.

Yep, it takes a while to make money online (unless you have incredible pull/know the right people with high-traffic websites, etc.) and yes, one must learn the hard way to understand the best way.

All in all, it is fun and games once ya get past the marketing gauntlet, and you may find yourself horsing around more than getting serious, once you start earning regular checks (always a problem of mine, as I like to joke around a lot), but then again, I still hold down an offline job during the process of collecting my semi-regular, petty checks online; ha!

But seriously, I wrote a blog post on a free blogspot domain a while back, that would compliment this post. I don't know if this comment field hyperlinks long-strand URLs or not, but if it does, here it is:

-Link removed because approving links in comments like this strongly encourages even more spamming - Sorry -

That links to a page I wrote about bad SEO advice and a little bit about the concept of blogging for money. Feel free to add your comments to that post, as well; cheers! :)

I have not seen a lot of success in niche blogging, though I am still persistent in my efforts! The advice in this article is valid, all the same, though. In becoming a blogger, a lot of people end up getting taken off track, as you mentioned.

For example, getting organized. We get so focused in the tool or the method that we never actually manage to use our planners, calendars, bins, and lists... we just keep buying more stuff and cluttering our homes even more.

The same is true for blogging. We focus on, say, the best software for editing, or the best platform like WordPress or Blogger, or the best domain name. And then we never end up actually writing anything.

Writing as a hobby or for yourself is completely different thing then writing as a way of business. In business everybody needs to be dependable or it wont work. From my experience i found out that freelance writers who once worked as a journalists have better sense of deadlines and are more responsible in work.

In any work place be in an office or even outsourcing, dependability is one of the great factor an owner wants for his workers. I understand what you feel. I have been working in an online job but when I was given a task immediately by the contractor and if I find it that I am not much comfortable with him or the things he/she wants me to do, I always sent him a letter formally that I need to decline such job. I know you are stating this thing as an owner and I understand that. There are some employers that are on the first message or talking feels so rude, as a worker, him once and for all politely so he will not expect from me working with the projects he wants me to accomplish. I am sorry but there are lots of employer who is very mean, specially when they hire people from third world countries, they are assuming that whatever the cost maybe, even with the lowest price we will take the job because of our financial difficulties.

I think that principle is universal no matter which industry you happen to work in. If you want to get steady work from a client who can afford to pay above average for an article, then you had better make damn sure that you are delivering top notch content and delivering it on time. You better be easy to get in touch with. You had better return your phone calls promptly. Those are keys to this puzzle.

I agree with you, I also write original articles and submit them to different article directories, but the result is very tiny and it is really a time to start thinking about implementing new strategies for article marketing and using new techniques to get our articles, pages and websites indexed, I have also checked your site about article marketing case study and I am going to take part in developing that site.
