What happens once you become a member?
Once your membership is approved you will be emailed a username and password. You can change the password anytime you want to. You are automatically given the status of a contributor to this site. That means you can log into the site and publish information. That is how you benefit from being a member here.
Suppose you publish a new blog post at your own website or maybe an article on some article directory. Then you would come here and write a couple of paragraphs talking about that article. You create kind of an introduction for that blog post or article. You create a link that points to your article. You submit it for review. An admin checks your work over then publishes it.
Your introductory paragraphs now show up on the homepage of this website along with the link back to your article. You get publicity to the other writers who belong here and also search engine bot visits as a result of that link.
Can you promote the same piece more than once?
No. You are only allowed to introduce an article or blog post once.
How many articles or posts can you promote in one day?
You are limited to 2 promotions per day. You would have to be a serious writer to write more than a couple articles per day continuously. We limit it to this so that people don’t come here to promote twenty articles at once. If that happened you would push everyone else’s stuff off the homepage. Plus, it is way better if you get used to promoting your articles immediately after they are published. It works better that way.
Can you write an introductory paragraph for an article that someone else wrote?
No. You can only write about your own material. You are encouraged to help other members promote their material, but you need to do that using your own personal accounts at wherever you want to help them promote it.
How many links can you put in one introductory piece?
You are limited to one link per introductory piece. Do not link out to more than one place.
How long does the introductory piece have to be?
We recommend using at least 100 words of text to introduce your article. Using more than that is better yet. If you write longer introductory pieces, then they will get indexed and stay indexed in Google right here on this site. That means they will provide benefits to you for much longer or even indefinitely. They will also attract their own long tail traffic from the search engines which can then be funneled over to your website through your links.
What are the quality standards?
Your content must provide a real benefit to a visitor, be 100% unique, written from scratch not using a spinner and not look like a low value spam site. If you have to ask whether or not yours meets these standards, then it doesn’t. Don’t waste your time asking.
How long does the review process take?
Right now there is only one admin for this site. The amount of time it takes to review your membership depends on how much other work the admin has. While the site is still relatively small, you can expect your account to be reviewed very quickly. As the site grows, it may take a few days.
Can you use a pen name?
Yes. Lots of freelance writers publish content under other names. There is nothing wrong with using pen names when writing. A lot of us do it.
What happens to people caught spamming?
If you are caught spamming you immediately lose your account and probably all the posts that you have ever made here.
How do we make money with this website?
You may have noticed that this website is not monetized. It will remain non-monetized for the foreseeable future. The goal of the site is to create a community of high Karma people. It is not to make money from directly. At some point this club will likely be closed to new members so that it remains manageable.
